Judicial Watch releases some info--the ten most----bleep
in govt....
Read, and enjoy.
Actually, all this makes me feel better about myself now.
I thought in church the other day, when I was a-hearing that sermon, that I was a crook, a cheat, a slaggard, a sluggard, and a no-good liar.
But, actually, now, I feel I'm a pretty good ole boy.

Mr. Morrison trusts the instincts of the voters and their ability to sift thru the political garbage that is always present to elect a great police chief. Using this logic, I believe the City Manager, Fire Chief and the School Superintendent should also be elected. Our current police chief, who is iin my opinion doing a good job, his oponents in the election and the majority of the police force want an appointed police chief. I cannot figure out why Mr. Morrison believes the only way to have a good police chief is to have him elected. I also have not figured out why he wants ligfhts on his tennis courts. Last time I looked, the tennis courts belonged to S.A.I.S.D.! Go figure

There are 29 proposed amendments on the ballot. Most of them are house keeping. Some are major, such as Proposition 25 which makes the Capital Program a permanent part of the city's budgeting and planning process, or Proposition 26 which would change to an appointed chief. Others, such as Proposition 5 which gives the council and mayor their first pay raise in over 60 years and proposition 13 which clarifies how the council can interact with city employees are significant. All of them are important.
I was on the charter review committee that studied the charter over many months and recommended the amendments to city council. This is a good place to ask questions and post opinions. Full text of the amendments and ballot language can be found on the cities website here.
